Introduction to DOTCOMCLUB.

Hey there, fellow Internet surfer and computer geek, welcome to our cyberspace. We are members of a tech club of the esteemed Jai Hind College, and you are going to love us before you ask why:

What is the Dot Com Club (DCC)?

The Dot Com Club is the official flagship of the IT and B.Voc Software Development Department of the Jai Hind College. It is the college’s exclusive technology club that works towards propagating the science of today as the future of tomorrow. We aspire to be vital cogs in the great growling engine of change fuelled by a thirst for innovation and invention. Our students persevere to become young leaders and entrepreneurs as data scientists, AI experts, hackers, graphic designers, UI, Front-end, Back-end, Game and Web developers, and many other specialists armed with a massive information base.

Why should you be interested in us?

We hacked into your computer and made you come to our blog. Kidding, we didn’t do that but what we do is organize a plethora of events, workshops, and tournaments to give our fellow students once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to practice their social skills and to learn something different from the regular mumbo-jumbo in our syllabuses.

The club’s major highlight is Cyberstrike, a technophile’s dream event with a Coding Championship, Robotics Workshop, Escape Room, and a torrent of games like PUBG, CS: GO, CS:1.6, and FIFA 2020. We may have slight difficulty reviving our E-Waste Drive, which collected a whopping 450kgs of e-waste last year but we are still going to try. Our department’s semi-annual Newsletter describes every event conducted in detail so hurry and check it out!

We take steps towards researching and exploring different fields via our Discussion Club and by participating in intercollegiate activities like Avishkar and Xplore. This year, we tried to bring a little cheer to our peers by dressing up for Diwali, Children’s and Teacher’s day while playing games like charades, taboo,s and mafia.

What did we do during the COVID-19 pandemic?

Most of us respected the government enough to stay under quarantine and lockdown, but some of us who did step out did it to give food and essentials to the poor. The existence of such caring souls revived my belief in kindness and humanity. Classmates came forward and told us about their charity journey and how extending helping hands is essential.

Who has been our most exciting speaker this year?

Hands-down, our teachers were the best speakers of the year because they tried their hardest to make the best of this situation. But in the guest-lecture workshop category, it was a two-way tie between Dr. Ajit Vishwakarma’s Demystifying Blockchain and the three-day webinar series conducted by IQAC experts on engaging topics like Machine Learning, WordPress, and Cyberthreats.

Do we have an Instagram account?

Yes, we do have an Instagram account with the handle @jhcdotcomclub which will keep you up to date about our department’s upcoming events and the latest additions to our Heads Hierarchy. Recently, we conducted online meme contests and a code war whose challenging and entertaining nature was a real people-pleaser. We plan to release some tips and tricks for the geek heads, quizzes, and debates for the brainiacs and, debates.

Conclusion:

The Dot Com Club of Jai Hind College combines technology with innovation. We aim to go the extra mile and do wonders for our club as well as the college. This club has allowed so many students to be creative and bring out their best selves.
